John Lord died on July 16, at the 72nd year of his life, at a London clinic. August 9, 2011 Lord declared that he is suspending his career in connection with the treatment of cancer. In February 2012, the musician underwent a course of treatment for pancreatic cancer in Israel.

Jonathan Douglas Lord, founded the Deep Purple group in 1968. The band became a legend of classic rock. John was one of the leaders of the collective and acted as a co-author of many compositions.

Whitesnake 1978-1983

The Lord was far from being the leader of the Whitesnake group, creating a general background, although you could occasionally hear short but memorable pieces of John’s keyboard solos. During John’s stay at Whitesnake, he recorded 2 solo albums. In addition to solo albums, John Lord also acted as guest musician with George Harrison, Cozy Powell, Graeme Bonnet and David Gilmore.

Deep Purple 1984-2002

After the restoration of the composition Deep Purple John Lord took part in recording 6 albums. Since they were still playing the good old hard rock, John took the same position in music.

During this time Lord recorded only one solo album “Pictured Within”, which was dedicated to the dead parents of John . On September 19, 2002, in Ipswich John Lord played the last concert of Deep Purple after which he left the band for the sake of a solo career in the field of classical music.
